The Gospel declares that everyone in need is our neighbor.  In the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus asked the expert in the law which of the three was a "neighbor" to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers.  His answer: "The one who had mercy on him.  Jesus response: "Go and do likewise" (Lk 10:37).  Our response to this will have a huge significance on how God responds to us.  This is what God values and our worship, our faith, and our personal lives will be enhanced as we learn to value what HE values.  Romans 12:1 says... "Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, offer yourself as living sacrifices , holy and pleasing to God - which is your spiritual worship." Our worship is tied to offering ourselves.
