Why Give?

Cheerful and sacrificial giving is part of offering holistic worship to God. God does not need what we have; however, the way we manage what God has provided to us guides our hearts. Giving reminds us that everything we have was given by God and we depend on Him to meet our every need. Giving expresses our gratitude to God by using His resources to continue telling His story in our church, our community and across the world.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  2Corinthians 9:7

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.  Proverbs 11:24

Where to Give

  • Operating - supports the full range of ministries at Pathfinder Church – from Sunday services to children’s ministry, small groups, etc. The Operating Fund also supports the Pathfinder staff and day to day building needs. Your unrestricted gift to the Operating Fund makes a difference by investing in the work God is doing at Pathfinder.

  • Missions –supports local, national and international ministries designated by our Missions committee and our United Methodist district.

  • Building – supports capital projects that repair or enhance the churches physical structure.

  • Designated Giving – money that is used for specific purposes (ex:  Growing with God Capital Campaign, Loaves and Fishes)

 Ways to Give

  • Giving Envelopes – Cash or checks may be given in envelopes during the service or delivered to the church office.  Make sure that your name or envelope number are written legibly on each envelope.  Any designated giving must be clearly specified.

  • Check or cash – may be given during the service or delivered to the church office.  Designated giving must be clearly written on the check’s memo line, or the envelope in which it is given. 

  • Electronic Giving – an easy and secure option for giving to Pathfinder.  This avenue enables individuals and families to set up one-time or recurring giving. There are three different ways to give electronically

    • Via a website using a checking account or credit card (click on the GIVE NOW link below).

    • Via your smartphone or tablet using the GivePlus+ app on your smartphone or tablet using a checking account or credit card (see the GivePlus Mobile Guide for details).

    • By texting to 833.938.2031 (see the Give by Text Guide for detials) using a debit or credit card.

    • Please note: Pathfinder pays a 2-4% surcharge when you use credit cards.

Non-Cash Gifts – If you wish to gift eligible securities to Pathfinder, in order to receive giving credit for the full market value and avoid capital gains, please complete this form, send a copy to your broker to authorize the transfer, and send a copy to the United Methodist Foundation of Michigan as instructed on the form.  Those wishing to donate gifts such as real estate, cars, etc, must work with the Trustees Committee to determine acceptability and valuation.
