When I lived in Manistee, we had a really long curved driveway that many people would slide off from in the winter time. They would start spinning their wheels and the rut that they would create would make it difficult for them to get unstuck. The same can be true for our lives.
Are you stuck in a rut?
It’s easy for Christians to find themselves caught up in the life of cluttered schedules, rhythms, and routines dictated by our culture. Many feel stuck in the routine of life—their jobs, relationships, and daily circumstances. They know it’s not the life they dreamed of. They feel stuck in a life yearning for deeper meaning.
That's why this fall, our church is encouraging every small group to participate in a 4 week study called Unstuck. The Unstuck Bible study has been designed to help guide you out of the ruts and pitfalls that so often ensnare us all. You will be inspired and equipped through the powerful biblical teaching of Mark Batterson, Francis Chan, Lisa Harper and Rich Stearns.
Each of these teachers will draw from the lessons of the award-winning short film Journey to Jamaa—a true story about two kids who are forced to search for hope in a broken world.
The dynamic combination of the film, profound biblical teaching and powerful real-life stories from everyday people will help you and your group get unstuck and back on the path to a life of purpose that God intends for you!
Pastor Greg will be preaching on this series starting September 22nd and it will continue for four weeks. I am suggesting that your group meet for those four consecutive weeks which will take us into mid October when we will ask all the groups to get involved in a service project of their choice.
The UNSTUCK series is available on the "Right Now" media that we subscribe to, which can be viewed easily in the church small group rooms that we've set up or streamed directly to your home. (Call the office to reserve a room.) All small group leaders are asked to let Dan Barkholz know you are doing the study so that he can purchase a leaders guide for you.
